IN MEMORY OF MIKE ROSENBERG

For nearly four decades, Mike Rosenberg was the No. 1 fan of Maimonides School athletes, students and alumni.

A Vermont native, Mike began his career as a journalist before joining Maimonides School in 1987 as executive director. In 2003, he transitioned into the role of head of alumni relations, becoming the trusted steward of alumni milestones, achievements and honors for nearly 20 years. In that capacity, Mike forged deep and lasting connections with more than 2,300 Maimonides graduates, chronicling their accomplishments in the school’s monthly alumni newsletter, Kol Bogrei Rambam. His dedication ensured that alumni achievements—professional, personal, and communal—were celebrated and remembered.

Mike retired from full-time service at Maimonides School in June 2023 after 36 years—“double chai.” He returned to his journalistic roots covering local news and sports for an online newspaper in Bedford, Massachusetts, and continued to produce Kol Bogrei Rambam as a consultant. Mike passed away in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of steadfast devotion to Maimonides School and an enduring impact on generations of students, alumni, and colleagues who were fortunate to know him.

In 2026, the inaugural Mike Rosenberg Sportsmanship Award will be given to the team that best exemplifies the enthusiasm, ruach and sportsmanship during the tournament that Mike embodied.
